Matt Jensen Insurance Brokers joins Crombie Lockwood

Local businessman Matt Jensen has joined forces with Crombie Lockwood, one of the country’s largest insurance broking firms. On 15 October 2021, Matt Jensen Insurance Brokers (MJIB) became the Taupō branch of Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd.

The acquisition of Matt Jensen Insurance Brokers by Crombie Lockwood, the New Zealand arm of Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG) - the world’s fourth largest insurance broker, enables Crombie Lockwood to extend their footprint and services to communities and business owners in the Central North Island.

Founded in 2005, Matt Jensen Insurance Brokers provided a comprehensive range of Fire & General and Life & Health insurance solutions to clients across the Central North Island, with a focus on the forestry and transportation industries, and local small and medium businesses.

Crombie Lockwood CEO Carl O’Shea says the expertise provided by Matt and his team combined with the national resource and international endorsement offered by Crombie Lockwood makes for a winning combination.

“Our market scale, specialist expertise and international connections coupled with the deep local knowledge Matt and the team have built up will deliver a really strong insurance broking option to the people and businesses of Taupō and the central North Island.”

While the brand will look a little different in time, Matt is confident that it will be business as usual but with added value for existing clients.

The  team will continue to operate out of the same premises at 114 Horomatangi Street, Taupō.
